Douglas County Residents Oppose Microsoft Breakup

Douglas County voters oppose the Microsoft breakup recommended by the Department of Justice by more than two to one. Democrats favor a breakup by a slim margin, 40 percent to 38 percent, whereas Republicans oppose it, 67 percent to 18 percent. Unaffiliated voters oppose a breakup 50 percent to 28 percent.

Douglas County is one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. It now has more than 160,000 residents. Seventy-two percent of the residents arrived the last decade and 47 percent came from one of the other counties in the metro area. A third of the new arrivals came from another state or country.
